Townes Van Zandt
Rye whiskey stirred with dry vermouth, a touch of peach liqueur and Angostura bitters, then strained into a coupe under a long lemon twist. Peppery rye leads, with a gentle hint of stone fruit behind it.

Ingredients
Showing the cocktail. Switch to Mocktail for the alcohol-free version.
- 2 oz (60 ml) rye whiskey
- ¾ oz (22 ml) dry vermouth
- ¼ oz (7 ml) peach liqueur
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- ice
- long lemon twist, to garnish
- 2–3 Richberry halves
How to Make It
Stir
Stir the rye, vermouth, peach liqueur and bitters with ice in a mixing glass until well chilled.
Strain
Strain into a coupe glass.
Add the twist
Fold the lemon twist over the glass so its oils spray across the surface, rub it along the rim, then add it to the drink.
Add the Richberry twist
Just before your first sip, chew 2–3 Richberry halves gently and let them linger for about 30 seconds. Discard any pit, then taste how the sour notes turn sweet.
Richberry changes the taste, not the drink: a cocktail may taste softer, but it is just as strong. Please enjoy it responsibly.

Mocktail (Non-Alcoholic)
Strong black tea gives body; the apple juice brings a hint of orchard fruit where the peach liqueur was.
