A little clarity
FAQs
A small red fruit, native to West Africa. It contains a protein called miraculin: after you chew the berry, sour foods can taste sweet for a while, so a lemon may taste more like lemonade. The food doesn’t change, only how it tastes to you. That surprise gave the berry its name. How long it lasts varies from person to person.
Freeze-dried miracle berry halves. A half is one half of a berry: a 10-half pack contains the equivalent of five whole berries.
No. Richberry changes how sour flavours may taste to you. The food’s sugar content and acidity remain unchanged.

Richberry is a food: freeze-dried miracle berry, grown on our family farm in Goa, Camarines Sur, and eaten in West Africa for centuries. Like any food, it isn't right for everyone. Read the label before use, and if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or take medication, check with your doctor first.
Fresh berries lose their effect within a day or two of picking, so they're hard to find far from a farm. Freeze-drying keeps the whole berry, and its effect, for much longer: see the best-before date on your pouch. Tablets are made from freeze-dried berry with binders added to hold their shape. Freeze-dried or tablet?
Anything sour: lemons and limes, grapefruit, sour berries, tart apples or plain yoghurt are good places to start. Some people enjoy it with vinegar, tomatoes or hard cheese too. For more ideas, see 10 things to try and our recipes.
