Stuffed Cabbage Leaf Rolls

Soft cabbage leaves wrapped around turkey, brown rice, apple, onion and paprika, then slow-cooked until tender. A splash of lime juice gives the filling a gentle tang, the kind of sour flavour Richberry loves to play with.

Glass dish of cabbage rolls baked in tomato sauce on a wooden board, with wooden spoons
Tender. Savoury. Tangy.

Ingredients

  • 5–6 cabbage leaves
  • 12 oz sliced turkey
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 onions chopped
  • ½ cup brown rice, boiled
  • 1 small apple chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

How to make it

  1. Mix the filling

In a bowl, combine the turkey, garlic, onions, rice, apple, lime juice, paprika, salt and Worcestershire sauce.

  2. Fill and roll

Spoon some filling onto each cabbage leaf, fold it into a parcel and secure with a toothpick.

  3. Cook low and slow

Arrange the rolls in a slow cooker with a few tablespoons of water in the base and cook on low for 7–8 hours, until the cabbage is soft.

The Richberry difference

A naturally brighter taste

Miraculin, the protein in the miracle berry, can make sour flavours taste sweeter for a while. The food itself stays the same; only your taste changes.

Serve with

A little extra Worcestershire or soy sauce for drizzling, with steamed greens or a crisp salad.

Richberry tip
