White bowl of salsa with diced strawberries, mango, grapefruit, avocado, red onion and cilantro
Juicy. Zingy. A little fiery.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups strawberries, diced
  • 2 medium grapefruits sectioned
  • 2 medium oranges (or 3 small) sectioned
  • 2 mangoes diced
  • ½ cup red onion, diced
  • ⅓ cup jalapeño, diced
  • ¼ cup cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 medium avocado diced (optional)

How to make it

  1. Prepare the fruit

Dice the strawberries and mangoes, cut the grapefruits and oranges into sections, and dice the onion and jalapeño.

  2. Toss together

Put everything except the avocado into a medium bowl and toss gently.

  3. Finish and serve

Spoon into a serving dish when you're ready. If using avocado, fold it in just before serving so it stays fresh and green.

The Richberry difference

A naturally brighter taste

Miraculin, the protein in the miracle berry, can make sour flavours taste sweeter for a while. The food itself stays the same; only your taste changes.

Tip

Section the citrus over the bowl to catch the juice, and seed the jalapeño if you prefer milder heat.

Serve with

Tortilla chips, grilled fish or chicken, or fish tacos.

Richberry tip

Just before you eat, chew 1–2 halves gently and let them linger for about 30 seconds. Discard any pit.
