Pot roast beef pulled apart beside glazed carrots and green beans on a gold-rimmed platter with thyme
Tender. Meaty. Warming.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion chopped
  • 5 oz mushrooms
  • 10.5 oz beef roast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 green chili
  • 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 ½ tablespoons water
  • Fresh basil leaves to serve

How to make it

  1. Slow-cook the beef

Mix the onion, mushrooms, beef, salt and green chili, put them in the slow cooker and cook for about 5 ½ hours.

  2. Thicken the gravy

Stir the cornstarch into the water until smooth, add it to the slow cooker and cook for another 30 minutes.

  3. Serve with basil

Lay the beef and vegetables on a large plate and scatter basil leaves over the top.

The Richberry difference

A naturally brighter taste

Miraculin, the protein in the miracle berry, can make sour flavours taste sweeter for a while. The food itself stays the same; only your taste changes.

Tip

For a change, swap the beef for pork and keep everything else the same.

Serve with

Mashed potatoes or steamed rice, with green beans or carrots on the side.

Richberry tip

Just before you eat, chew 1–2 halves gently and let them linger for about 30 seconds. Discard any pit.
