Moonraker #1

Cognac, peach liqueur and Lillet Blanc stirred and poured into an absinthe-rinsed coupe, then finished with a lemon twist. Silky and perfumed, with soft stone fruit and a faint anise edge, it suits a quiet evening.

Ingredients

Showing the cocktail. Switch to Mocktail for the alcohol-free version.

  • 2 oz (60 ml) cognac
  • ½ oz (15 ml) peach liqueur
  • ½ oz (15 ml) Lillet Blanc
  • absinthe, to rinse the glass
  • ice
  • long lemon twist, to garnish
  • 2–3 Richberry halves

How to Make It

  1. Stir

Stir the cognac, peach liqueur and Lillet Blanc with ice in a mixing glass until well chilled.

  2. Rinse the glass

Pour a few drops of absinthe into a coupe, swirl to coat the inside and tip out the excess.

  3. Strain and twist

Strain the drink into the rinsed coupe. Squeeze the lemon twist in half over the top to release its oils, run it round the rim and drop it in.

  4. Add the Richberry twist

Just before your first sip, chew 2–3 Richberry halves gently and let them linger for about 30 seconds. Discard any pit, then taste how the sour notes turn sweet.

Richberry changes the taste, not the drink: a cocktail may taste softer, but it is just as strong. Please enjoy it responsibly.

Mocktail (Non-Alcoholic)

Stir the apple juice with ice, skip the absinthe rinse and add a splash of sparkling water before the lemon twist.
