Monte Carlo
An Old Fashioned variation: rye whiskey and Bénédictine stirred with Angostura bitters and finished with a long lemon twist. Spicy, herbal and smooth, it is one to sip slowly by the fire or after dinner.

Ingredients
Showing the cocktail. Switch to Mocktail for the alcohol-free version.
- 2¼ oz (67 ml) rye whiskey
- ½ oz (15 ml) Bénédictine
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- ice
- long lemon twist, to garnish
- 2–3 Richberry halves
How to Make It
Stir
Stir the rye, Bénédictine and bitters with ice in a mixing glass, then strain into an old-fashioned glass over fresh ice. With one large ice cube, you can build it straight in the glass and stir 5 or 6 times.
Add the twist
Squeeze the lemon twist in half over the drink to release its oils, run it round the rim and drop it in.
Add the Richberry twist
Just before your first sip, chew 2–3 Richberry halves gently and let them linger for about 30 seconds. Discard any pit, then taste how the sour notes turn sweet.
Richberry changes the taste, not the drink: a cocktail may taste softer, but it is just as strong. Please enjoy it responsibly.

Mocktail (Non-Alcoholic)
Stir cold black tea and a little apple juice over ice, then keep the lemon twist for its aromatic oils.
