Grapefruit-Tamarind Sangrita
A savoury, spicy chaser of grapefruit and lime juice, tamarind, vegetable juice, grated onion and hot sauce, sipped alongside a shot of tequila. Chew Richberry halves before the first sip and the tamarind and lime come across fruity, not puckering.

Ingredients

- 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
- 1 tbsp tamarind concentrate
- 1 tbsp vegetable juice
- 1 tsp grated yellow onion
- salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- hot sauce, to taste
- 1 dash Maggi seasoning sauce or Worcestershire sauce, to taste
- 2 oz tequila, to serve
- 2–3 Richberry halves
How to Make It
Mix the juices
Stir the lime juice, grapefruit juice, vegetable juice and tamarind concentrate together until the tamarind dissolves.
Season
Stir in the grated onion, then season with salt, pepper, hot sauce and a dash of Maggi or Worcestershire sauce.
Serve
Pour into a small glass and serve beside a 2 oz shot of tequila, sipping the two in turn.
Add the Richberry twist
Just before your first sip, chew 2–3 Richberry halves gently and let them linger for about 30 seconds. Discard any pit, then taste how the sour notes turn sweet.
Richberry changes the taste, not the drink: a cocktail may taste softer, but it is just as strong. Please enjoy it responsibly.

Mocktail (Non-Alcoholic)
The sangrita itself is alcohol-free: skip the tequila and sip it slowly on its own, or alongside spicy food.
