Glass bowl of fresh tomato salsa with red onion and cilantro, surrounded by jalapeño slices, lime wedges and garlic
Zesty. Chunky. Fresh.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups tomatoes, chopped (or two 15-oz cans no-salt-added tomatoes)
  • ½ cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 4 teaspoons fresh jalapeño pepper, chopped (seeds included)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

How to make it

  1. Chop the vegetables

Chop the tomatoes, green pepper, onion, cilantro and jalapeño, keeping the jalapeño seeds in.

  2. Stir and serve

Put everything in a bowl with the lime juice, cumin, salt and black pepper, stir well and serve.

The Richberry difference

A naturally brighter taste

Miraculin, the protein in the miracle berry, can make sour flavours taste sweeter for a while. The food itself stays the same; only your taste changes.

Tip

For a milder salsa, scrape the seeds out of the jalapeño before chopping it.

Serve with

Tortilla chips, tacos, grilled chicken or fish, or spooned over scrambled eggs.

Richberry tip

Just before you eat, chew 1–2 halves gently and let them linger for about 30 seconds. Discard any pit.
